Volkswagen is introducing some interesting updates for the 2026 model year across its U.S. lineup. A key highlight is the introduction of the Tiguan SEL R-Line Turbo, a fresh take that’s sure to turn some heads.

Tiguan SEL R-Line Turbo

The star of the show is the new Tiguan SEL R-Line Turbo, set to make its debut this fall. This model brings a blend of luxury and performance with its 20-inch wheels, Varenna leather seats, and American walnut wood trim, making it feel quite upscale. Inside, expect cutting-edge technology like a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Comfort isn’t forgotten either, with a tri-zone climate control system, heated steering wheel, and plush seats that are both heated and ventilated.

Power and Performance

Under the hood, the Tiguan SEL R-Line Turbo houses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine putting out 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and power is efficiently transferred to all wheels, promising a stable and composed drive even in challenging conditions.

Other Models

The Atlas and Atlas Sport Coupe now include a HomeLink mirror in SE Technology trims and above. The Jetta line receives standard rear-seat pretensioners, while the Jetta GLI Autobahn trim now features a premium eight-speaker audio system and new steering wheel push buttons.

ID.4 and Electrification

In the electric vehicle segment, the ID.4 will see some updates with a mid-model year change, although details are under wraps for now. For those interested in EVs, it’s something worth keeping an eye on. Meanwhile, the ID.Buzz, a new addition from 2025, is also expected to get some tweaks.
