The organization known as “Tesla Takedown” appears relentless in its campaign against Musk, taking issue with his influence on the political scene and his alleged role in promoting conspiratorial beliefs. Their activities include planned protests at Tesla dealerships and charging stations, especially along the East and West coast, with additional events in Colorado, Michigan, and Texas.

Tesla Market Woes

Not only is Musk grappling with his political position, but Tesla is also facing challenges in the market. The European market has seen a significant decline in Tesla sales, reporting a 52.6% drop in registrations last month. Within the first four months of 2025, Tesla’s presence in the European market decreased by 46.1%, at a time when electric vehicle interests are otherwise rising.

Competitor Growth

The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association noted that the new battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) increased by 26.4%, with a significant 15.3% market share. This growth emphasizes that while the overall demand for electric cars is booming, Tesla is struggling to maintain its leadership amidst rising competition.

Canadian Sales Impact

Tesla’s difficulties aren’t confined to Europe. The Canadian province of Quebec reported an 85% drop in Tesla sales in the first quarter of the year. The downturn was especially hard on the Model 3, with a sales decline of 94%. This suggests the impact is widespread across different regions, reflecting broader market challenges.

Despite these market challenges, the experience of driving a Tesla remains a significant selling point. Enthusiasts often describe it as a unique driving experience marked by impressive acceleration and futuristic technology.
