Tesla Model Y Prize

Tesla’s Unique Contest

Tesla’s new approach to engaging its customer base is generating buzz with a worldwide content contest. In a surprising move, Tesla is offering a Model Y as the prize for its fan-made commercial competition. The contest invites creative types globally to craft engaging ads for Tesla’s vehicles, particularly the Model Y. Participants are required to upload these videos to YouTube and make sure to tag Tesla on various social media platforms.

The Contest Details

This contest is a part of Tesla’s efforts to revive its image after facing some challenges over the past year. While they’re not new to engaging fans in this way, this contest marks a major initiative, especially considering Tesla’s notorious aversion to traditional advertising. Tesla wants fans to submit videos, each no longer than 90 seconds, that showcase how owning a Tesla adds value to your life, be it through convenience, fun, or safety.

The grand prize in North America is the highly coveted Tesla Model Y, alongside an all-expenses-paid trip to the Gigafactory in Texas. Contestants coming in second and third will also get the chance to visit the Gigafactory for a private tour. Tesla has created region-specific prizes for other areas, tailored to each market’s interests and logistics. For instance, participants from Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand can win $830 in Tesla Shop Credits.

Driving Experience

Driving the Tesla Model Y is truly an experience—the electric SUV is known for combining performance and practicality. With dual motor all-wheel drive and up to 384 horsepower, the Model Y delivers impressive torque from the start. It zips from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.8 seconds, offering a sense of agility and speed typically found in high-performance cars. It stands out against traditional SUVs with its quiet, smooth ride and innovative tech.

Compared to its peers in the electric SUV market, like the Ford Mustang Mach-E or VW ID.4, the Model Y offers a futuristic feel with Tesla’s unique Autopilot technology. While driving, it’s hard not to appreciate the spacious interior that seats up to seven comfortably. Tesla’s minimalist dashboard, dominated by a 15-inch touchscreen, takes some getting used to, but ultimately adds to the modern driving feel.

All entries for the contest must be submitted by mid-July, leaving contestants just a few weeks to prepare their submissions. Winners will be announced in August, giving participants plenty of time to create and share their vision of what makes the Tesla experience so unique. This initiative seems to be a clever move by Tesla, leveraging its fanbase to promote the brand while fostering community creativity.
