New Celebrations

In light of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Stellantis is getting in on the action with special edition vehicles. These are coming from some of the brands Americans know well: Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. Yup, these household names are the exclusive automotive sponsors of America250. It’s kind of a big deal as this organization was put together by Congress to lead the celebrations. A fair mix of tradition and wheels, isn’t it?
The Not-So-American Twist
Even though Stellantis is based over in the Netherlands, they’re jumping in to celebrate America in a way that’s a bit unexpected. What’s interesting is that Chrysler’s lineup is actually made up north in Canada. So, there could be a peculiar situation where an America250 edition vehicle isn’t even assembled on U.S. soil. That scenario gives serious flashbacks to the “Imported from Detroit” days when most of Chrysler’s lineup was Canadian.
Tapping Nostalgia
In an effort to connect with emotions, Stellantis has resurrected the voice of Kevin Yon, an iconic ad narrator, through AI. Yon passed away five years ago, but with his family’s permission, his voice has been reassembled to star in a new advertisement titled ‘America Made Us.’ It’s a real trip down memory lane featuring historic cars like the Chrysler 300 and Willys MB, along with the familiar Chrysler Firepower engine.
More to Come
As the year progresses, there’s a lot to look forward to with Stellantis’s America250 partnership. Their North American HQ is even getting decked out in a special themed wrap, just in time for Memorial Day. Plus, a whole fleet of vehicles is set to support America250 activities, which should be interesting to see unfold. From slick modern rides to nods at the automotive history of the past, there’s certainly an air of excitement surrounding these developments.
Feel of the Drive
When it comes to driving these Stellantis vehicles, expect them to capture that American road trip fantasy: powerful engines, solid performance, and a comfortable ride. Think of cruising along the open highways, with performance reminding one of the Dodge Charger’s muscle or the sophistication of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. These vehicles tend to strike a balance between tradition and modern engineering, keeping drivers connected to the essence of the open road.
