In the fast-evolving world of electric pickups, the Tesla Cybertruck has captured a lot of attention. However, it’s not always been a smooth ride. For those wanting more, the R1T Dual option, priced at $77,900, offers a package that boosts it to 665 horsepower and 829 lb-ft of torque. The top-tier R1T Tri, starting at $99,900, showcases three electric motors pulling 850 horsepower and an impressive 1,103 lb-ft of torque, sprinting to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds.

Tesla’s Pricey Performance

In contrast, the Tesla Cybertruck starts at $79,990, available in All-Wheel Drive and Cyberbeast modes. The standard configuration offers a driving range of up to 325 miles, whereas the Cyberbeast just under $100,000, provides a range slightly less, at 320 miles. Performance is robust with the base model’s dual motors outputting 600 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque.

For those desiring enhanced performance, the Cyberbeast adds a third motor, increasing power to 845 horsepower and 863 lb-ft of torque, blasting to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds.

Truck or Tech Car?

Aesthetics play a role in this competition. The Rivian R1T retains classic truck looks, which could sway traditionalists. It pulls up to 11,000 lbs and holds a payload of 2,161 lbs in its 54-inch length and 51.1-inch width bed, with up to 14.6 inches ground clearance. These features instill confidence in its pickup functionality.

On the other side, the Cybertruck exhibits a unique design but matches the R1T’s towing capacity. Its larger 6-by-4 foot bed boasts a greater payload capability of 2,500 lbs.
