Mini Countryman Revamp

The Concept

The Mini Countryman, originally more of a city and smooth-road cruiser, is getting a rugged makeover thanks to a collaboration between Delta4x4 and X-Raid. Known for their off-road expertise, these two teams have turned this popular SUV into a wide-body beast capable of tackling much tougher terrains. It’s just a concept for now, but who knows? With enough fan interest, this version might hit the trails for real.

Design Upgrades

At the heart of this transformation is a significant design overhaul. For starters, the SUV now comes with fender extensions that increase its width by a full 7.9 inches. To protect against the inevitable bumps and scrapes of tough terrains, a robust bull bar guards the front bumper, enhanced by additional LED lights both on the grille and the roof. These modifications are not just for show; they’ll make nighttime off-roading a much safer and visible activity.

Ready for Adventure

Up top, a roof rack offers room for adventure essentials like snow tracks and spare wheels. And, with Land Rover-style storage compartments fitted into the window areas, the Countryman keeps gear stowed safely for those extended trips. The whole look is finished off in a matte gray, with striking orange graphics that give it a sporty yet aggressive charm.

Under the Hood

While this isn’t a performance upgrade per se, the Mini Countryman has been equipped with 18-inch Delta4x4 Hanma alloy wheels wrapped in heavy-duty all-terrain tires. Coupled with a rally-style suspension lift adding two extra inches of ground clearance, this SUV looks prepared for more than just city streets and casual off-road trails.

Power and Range

Though the core engine specs remain a question mark at this stage, the concept appears to be rooted in the Mini Countryman SE All4’s electric system, boasting an impressive 308 horsepower from its dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. With a 66.5 kWh battery, this version promises a range of about 212 miles on a single charge. That’s plenty to reach some of the more remote destinations and still have enough juice to enjoy a day in the wild.

Possible Production

Delta4x4 and X-Raid hint that this transformation might see limited production if enough interest is shown. Even though it’s just a prototype for now, it embodies what the future of adventure-focused motoring could look like. Let’s just hope it goes from a designer’s drawing to a reality on the road!
