Ensuring Their Longevity

Recognizing the love loyalists have for their vintage Hondas, the automaker has announced it’ll start supplying OEM-compatible parts for discontinued models globally by spring 2026. This decision is a relief for enthusiasts and restorers struggling to keep these icons on the road.

In collaboration with various partners, Honda is exploring innovative methods like 3D printing and remanufacturing. Remanufacturing involves refurbishing existing parts to make them functionally new. These efforts ensure the parts maintain the performance standards customers expect, continuing to uphold the integrity of the brand.

NSX Takes the Lead

The restoration program kicks off with the legendary first-generation Acura NSX, known in other markets as the Honda NSX. Launched in 1989, this mid-engine supercar, now over three decades old, will be the shining example of Honda’s dedication to keeping its heritage alive.

This initiative will take over from the existing NSX Refresh Plan, wrapping up in the summer of 2025. Unlike its predecessor, the new restoration program will blend genuine and OEM-compatible parts, allowing a broader customer base to enjoy these classics. While details remain sparse, Honda has hinted that cars like the beloved Honda CRX or the early Civic Si might join the program too.
