Honda’s Future Lineup

Taking a closer look at Honda’s upcoming models, it seems like their strategy covers everything from the throwback vibes of the new Prelude to their reimagined hybrid and electric offerings. Honda is essentially working hard to balance today’s market demand with their longer journey towards going green by 2050. They’re rolling out a slew of 13 next-gen hybrids from 2027 to 2031, and that’s in addition to what’s happening in their EV department, even though they’ve scaled back investments in electrification a bit.
Enduring Models

The proposed return of the Honda Prelude has enthusiasts pretty pumped. Landing in North America and elsewhere, this coupe channels some of that Honda-style performance, positioning itself as a snappier sibling to the Civic. Its hybrid powertrain, with that fun “S+ Shift” mode that simulates gear shifts, is expected to add to the buzz when it drops later this year.
Looking at the 2025 to 2035 roadmap, Honda’s beloved Civic won’t be left out. The upcoming models will likely get the upgrade treatment too, benefitting from the brand’s advanced e:HEV technology, which optimizes fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance.
Revamped Crossovers

When it comes to Honda’s crossovers, the HR-V is sticking around, at least till 2030, while the CR-V will likely see a fresh iteration by 2027. These refreshed models are expected to align with American preferences, offering both comfort and cutting-edge driver-assistance features.
The SUV Scene

Shifting focus to the SUV sector, Honda’s got an exciting lineup. The Passport is already making waves, which logically puts the spotlight on the Pilot. This model is due for a facelift soon and could come with a hybrid option. From what Global Data predicts, an all-new model might arrive around 2028-2029, coinciding with Honda’s plans to debut a large, hybrid-only SUV suited for serious towing and family outings.
Future of Electrification

Honda’s EV game plan is not off the table yet, even with the reservation on investment. The Honda 0 Series is just around the corner—it’s expected to debut in 2026 with a saloon model, followed by electric SUVs in 2027 and 2028. However, the Honda Prologue SUV facelift for 2028 signifies a shift as their partnership with GM for co-developing EVs has ended.
China Partnerships
In China, Honda is focusing on a fleet of EVs in collaboration with local partners Dongfeng and GAC. These models, including innovative sedans like the GT twins, are built on unique EV platforms. It’s uncertain if these will break into the international arena or stay within China’s borders.
Beyond the borders of the U.S., there’s a lot happening too. The Honda City, especially in emerging markets like India, keeps its internal combustion engines to maintain affordability. The Japanese market is expected to see updates to kei cars like the N-Box, which might spark interest with an electric version akin to the N-Van e: model set to surface mid-decade.
All in all, Honda is keeping their foot on the gas, so to speak, working hard to maintain a diverse range of models that cater to both current market cravings and future environmental goals. Love ’em or hate ’em, their roadmap is ambitious enough to keep eyes on their brand for years to come.
