The EldoRODo

Here’s a cool one—it’s called the EldoRODo, a radically modified version of a 1999 Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe. Imagine taking a classic piece of American automotive history and turning it into a custom hot rod. That’s exactly what Chuck Lombardo from California Street Rods did, and the result is something special. The EldoRODo recently sold for $55,000, and it’s a true testament to creativity and craftsmanship.
Custom Features
The modifications on this car are extensive, to say the least. The first thing that grabs attention is the chopped roof and the sharply angled windshield—it’s like it’s got a permanent racing stance. The bodywork is smooth and sleek, finished in a vibrant Ignite Orange, and there are no door handles or side mirrors to break up the lines. The front is simplistic, with tiny headlights and a minimal bumper with a secondary grille.
At the back, the tweaks continue with tinted taillights and custom vertical tailpipes, all adding to that streamlined look. The whole thing rides on 18-inch wheels, which fit perfectly under the exquisitely crafted body.
Inside and Out
Stepping inside, much of the Touring Coupe’s original charm is intact. It features the expected light-colored leather of the classic Eldorado, and it’s equipped with some decent amenities: a Bose audio system, a CD player and an AM/FM cassette stereo, along with dual-zone climate control. Some carbon fiber trims add a bit of modern flair, though it’s not overly indulgent.
Under the hood, no changes have been made to the 4.6-liter V8. It still cranks out a reliable 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Even with its exotic looks, the performance remains true to the original Eldorado, which isn’t a bad thing if one appreciates the smooth power delivery that Cadillac is known for.
The Drive
Driving this custom number feels like cruising in a piece of art. While it has the familiar Cadillac ride comfort—thanks to its unchanged suspension and drivetrain—the exterior transformation makes it feel entirely different. Compared to more common rides like the Corvette or Mustang, it’s not about outright speed here; it’s about making a statement wherever it goes. It’s the kind of car for someone who wants to enjoy the journey and turn heads while doing it.
As cool as it is, this beauty is more suited for display rather than everyday driving. So, it probably won’t be spotted on the highway, but rather at a show or a museum somewhere, proudly showcasing the artistry that went into its creation.
