Honda is marking the 30th anniversary of its iconic CR-V with something pretty special – the Dream Pod concept. This isn’t just any crossover; it’s all about embracing the great outdoors, packing features that any camping enthusiast would admire. Built upon the CR-V e:PHEV, it is designed to evoke the functional charm of Japan’s capsule hotels and offers an electric-only range of 49 miles.

Inside, the Dream Pod has been transformed with an EGOE Nestboard 650 setup, converting the rear space into a cozy bedroom on wheels. Just slide out the double mattress, fit for two adults, and enjoy a night under the stars with privacy screens for the rear windows and a convenient retractable blind.

Functional Cooking Space

In the kitchen department, the Nestboard 650 doesn’t disappoint. A slide-out drawer reveals a compact stove and a folding sink, all nestled in there with compartments to neatly store cooking essentials like plates and utensils. It’s basically got all the goods without taking up too much room.

Added amenities include rubber floor mats, pull-out side tables, and ‘tech pods’—combining tech needs with convenience by offering LED reading lights with USB charging ports. Just in case camping doesn’t mean disconnecting entirely.

The CR-V Dream Pod concept is rooted in the CR-V e:PHEV. The powertrain includes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor and a 17.7 kWh battery pack. This allows the Explorers among us to go up to 49 miles purely on electric power, ideal for those noise-free, scenic parkway drives.
