Cadillac is revving up its electric game with the 2026 Optiq and it’s looking pretty sharp. The luxury automaker just announced some exciting updates, including new powertrains and a fresh feature that lets drivers tap into Tesla’s Supercharger network thanks to a newly standard NACS port. The Optiq has two new powertrain options. The basic model sports an 85 kWh battery connected to a rear motor pumping out 315 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. It’s a step up in power, even besting some of the older all-wheel-drive models. For those craving more muscle, there’s an all-wheel-drive option that brings its A-game with 440 horsepower and a hefty 498 pound-feet of torque. That’s a considerable leap from past versions that topped out at 300 horsepower.

Performance

Cadillac hasn’t spilled all the beans on performance numbers yet, but the Optiq can cruise up to 300 miles on a single charge. And when planning that next road trip, the battery can add around 79 miles of range with just ten minutes on the charger. This feature really shines when time is tight and every mile counts.

Features

Beyond the gutsy motors, the Optiq is packed with modern technology. Vision Enhanced Parking is on board, which likely builds on Cadillac’s existing automated parking tools using cameras and radar sensors. Plus, their Super Cruise system is even smarter now, with upgrades like Google Maps integration and automatic lane changes, making highway journeys smoother and more hands-off.

Adaptive Cruise Control

This system adjusts to speed limits without missing a beat. It can even nudge the speed a bit higher if the driver likes to be brisk. Imagine cruising at 75 mph in a 70 mph zone; if the limit drops to 55 mph, the Optiq might settle for 60 mph if that’s your preferred style.

Pricing details haven’t been released yet, but the 2026 Optiq is slated to hit American roads by the end of the year. The updates make it a strong contender in the ever-growing EV market, combining Cadillac’s luxury flair with cutting-edge technology.
