Standout Color

There’s nothing quite like a bold, flashy color to make a statement on the road, and Toyota knows this all too well. The 2026 lineup for Toyota’s 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia TRD Pro models is set to turn even more heads with the introduction of a vibrant new color called “Wave Maker.” This striking shade of blue adds to Toyota’s tradition of offering eye-catching colors in their TRD Pro range.
Design Inspiration

This vivid blue is crafted by Toyota’s CALTY design studio, inspired by adventures beyond the usual, even imagining territories off this planet. According to Benjamin Jimenez from CALTY Ann Arbor, the Wave Maker color evokes the spirit of uncharted adventures. While it might sound like marketing talk, this new color will undeniably attract attention both on urban streets and rugged trails.
TRD Special Colors
Over the years, Toyota’s TRD Pro models have donned several exclusive shades. In recent memory, colors like Voodoo Blue, Inferno, Solar Orange, and Lime Rush have graced their models, while Wave Maker is set to be one of the boldest yet. For those preferring something a bit more understated, colors like Army Green and the intriguingly named Mudbath, a unique brown, are available too.
Availability
For those keen to get their hands on one of these colorful TRD Pro models, dealerships across the U.S. will start receiving 2026 versions this fall. While other updates for 2026 are minimal, these models, with their robust and timeless design, don’t require much embellishment. On the technical side, the Tacoma TRD Pro, introduced only a couple of years ago, brought innovations like IsoDynamic performance seats featuring shock absorbers to reduce motion for both driver and passenger.
Under the Hood
The TRD Pro lineup offers diverse powertrains tailored to different models, ensuring performance matches their bold aesthetics. The 4Runner features a potent 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder coupled with an electric motor, delivering 326 horsepower and a hefty 465 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the Tundra and Sequoia boast a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid, producing an impressive 437 horsepower and a robust 583 lb-ft of torque.
Driving Experience
Driving a TRD Pro is an exhilarating experience whether traversing desert trails or cruising along coastlines. The Wave Maker color, in particular, ensures a commanding presence no matter the backdrop. Many find the driving dynamics of Toyota TRD Pro models comparable to that of rugged competitors such as the Ford Raptor or Jeep Gladiator. These trucks offer a stable, controlled ride thanks to their specialized suspension systems and are built to handle tough terrains with ease.
