Lanzante 95-59 Debut

Lanzante’s New Tribute

Think about it: Lanzante is renowned for taking the already extreme and making it even more exquisite. This time, they are paying homage to their celebrated win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 30 years ago with the McLaren F1 GTR. Their upcoming masterpiece is aptly named the 95-59, marking both the year of the victory and the race number of the car. What better way to celebrate than crafting a limited series of just 59 units, each embodying the spirit of that iconic victory?

Power and Practicality

Lanzante is aiming for an impressive 700 horsepower per ton with the 95-59. In terms of design, this is about blending power with everyday practicality. The supercar’s layout borrows from the legendary McLaren F1, featuring a three-seat configuration with the driver snugly positioned in the middle. While it hints at being based on the McLaren Speedtail, the quest for exclusivity means there’s likely a different donor vehicle for this project. Surprisingly, for a car this focused, no hybrid system has been mentioned, suggesting Lanzante is going for a pure driving experience.

Design Crafted by a Legend

Paul Howse, the designer behind iconic McLaren models like the P1 and 720S, is bringing his expertise to the 95-59. This connection strongly hints that the vehicle may draw elements from a high-powered V8 machine like the McLaren 750S. Even though the more economical Artura with its hybrid V6 could be a contender, it seems too tame for Lanzante’s ambitious vision.

Painted in the historical Ueno Grey, the 95-59 looks both backward and forward with its elegant aesthetics. The sketches seem reminiscent of the Aston Martin Valhalla, signaling a blend of heritage and innovation. The grand reveal is scheduled for the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 10, but for most, this beauty is already an elusive dream; those not on Lanzante’s phone list won’t have a shot at securing one.
