Finally in the Air

The wait is over for Android enthusiasts hoping to enhance their Lucid Air driving experience. As of June 16, 2025, Lucid Motors has answered prayers with the inclusion of Android Auto through an over-the-air update to Lucid OS 2.7.0. This feature, officially named the “Android Auto Smart Driving Companion Application,” is now available across all Lucid Air models. Those with Android 11 or higher can enjoy this perk wirelessly, while owners of phones with Android 9 or 10 can connect via a USB cable.

Before the Update

Prior to this update, Lucid Air drivers had limited options for integrating their Android devices. They could connect Spotify directly or rely on Bluetooth audio, although this method proved less than ideal for hands-free calling or displaying album art. The update rectifies these issues, making driving and managing media far more seamless. Dr. Jean-Philippe Gauthier, Lucid’s Head of Software Engineering, noted the importance of this update for enhancing the overall user experience.

Starting with the Pure, which comes in at $69,900 and features 430 horsepower with a 0-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds.
