The V8 Replacement

While the twin-turbocharged W12 waved goodbye, Bentley’s latest Bentayga Speed models equipped with a twin-turbo 4-liter V8 remind us of the brand’s knack for blending opulence with power. This engine isn’t just a downsized alternative; it’s an upgrade. The Bentayga Speed’s V8 pumps out a remarkable 641 horsepower, which is 15 horses more than its W12 predecessor. When it comes to torque, the V8 is just shy of the giant W12, offering a hefty 627 pound-feet compared to the W12’s 664. However, this should not be a concern, as this SUV still packs one heck of a punch.

Performance Prowess

Despite the slight reduction in torque, Bentley has tuned the Bentayga Speed for performance that truly delivers: 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. If that doesn’t catch the eye, its top speed of 190 mph definitely will. This powerhouse SUV is approximately 95 pounds lighter than the previous model, with enhanced rear-wheel steering geared towards agile handling. There’s also the optional carbon-ceramic brakes if stopping the 5,435-pound beast swiftly is in order.
